Common Questions About Our Acoustic Panels

Can’t find your answer here? Send us an email — our engineers reply within 24 hours with test data, drawings or a factory-direct quotation.

What is the difference between polyester fiber acoustic panels and fabric wrapped acoustic panels?
Polyester fiber (PET) acoustic panels are made from 100% polyester fiber pressed into rigid decorative boards — low cost, 40+ colors, easy to cut and install on walls. Fabric wrapped acoustic panels are rigid fiberglass or wooden cores wrapped in flame-retardant fabric — higher NRC absorption and a premium soft finish, ideal for cinemas, auditoriums and conference rooms. We supply both from one factory, so we can recommend the right mix for your budget and design.
What is the NRC rating of Qdboss acoustic panels?
Our polyester fiber acoustic panels reach NRC 0.85 (tested by an accredited third-party lab; the report is downloadable on our Certificates page). Absorption improves with thickness and air gap: 9 mm panels perform well for speech clarity, while 12 mm panels with a rear cavity absorb more low-frequency energy — our engineers can calculate the coverage you need for your reverberation target.
Are your acoustic panels fire rated? Which certificates do you have?
Yes. Qdboss panels hold third-party fire test reports including ASTM E84 (Class A), EN 13501-1 (B-s1,d0), BS 476 Part 6 & 7, plus CE marking. Fabric, wall carpet and fiberglass ceiling materials are also tested. All reports are available for tender documents — see the Certificates page.
Are the panels safe for schools and kindergartens?
Absolutely. Our PET panels are formaldehyde-release and heavy-metals-migration tested with reports available on request. They are odorless, dust-free and fiber-shedding free, which makes them suitable for classrooms, music rooms, kindergartens and other occupied spaces.
What sizes, thicknesses and colors are available?
Standard PET panels come in 1220 × 2420 mm sheets with 9 mm and 12 mm thicknesses in 40+ colors; fiberglass ceiling tiles are commonly 600 × 600 mm for suspended grid systems. Custom sizes, thicknesses, colors, printed patterns and fabric finishes are all supported as OEM — we produce from your color code, drawing or sample.
Do you accept OEM and custom branding?
Yes — OEM is one of our core services. We customize colors, sizes, thicknesses, edge shapes, fabric wrapping, printed logos and packaging. Minimum quantities for OEM orders are low (from one pallet), and full container loads get the best factory-direct prices.
What is your MOQ and lead time?
Stock colors and sizes ship from our Qingdao warehouse with a low MOQ — even trial orders of a few hundred square meters are welcome. Standard lead time is 7–15 days depending on quantity; OEM and custom production typically takes 15–25 days. Rush orders can be scheduled, just tell us your deadline.
How are acoustic panels installed?
PET panels can be glued directly to walls or ceilings, or fixed on wooden battens; fiberglass ceiling tiles lay into standard T-grid systems; fabric wrapped panels mount with adhesive or hanging cleats. We provide installation guides and videos, and our panels are easy to cut on site with a utility knife — most contractors need no special training.
Do you supply China’s cinema chains?
Yes — Qdboss has been a long-term acoustic materials supplier to China’s top cinema chains since 2008, providing acoustic wall panels, wall carpet, fiberglass ceilings and cinema aisle lighting. That cinema-grade fire and acoustic experience goes into every export order. See real installations on our Projects page.
Can I get samples before placing an order?
Yes. We ship free material samples worldwide — you only cover the courier cost. Sample kits include PET panel colors, fabric swatches and fiberglass ceiling tile pieces so you can check density, finish and color before committing.
Which countries do you export to, and how is shipping handled?
We export to more than 40 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the Americas. We quote EXW, FOB Qingdao or CIF to your nearest port, and our team prepares full export documents including CE and fire test reports for customs clearance.
How do I clean and maintain the panels?
Routine dust can be removed with a vacuum or dry cloth; stains on PET panels clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Fabric wrapped panels can be vacuumed with a brush head. The panels do not absorb moisture or warp, so no special maintenance is required over their service life.
